New Single Family House
Poster designed for Vivian Lin”s Graduate thesis show “New Single Family House,” a study of growing up in what is considered a “McMansion” home located in the San Gabriel Valley.
Through a series of large-scale photographs of her childhood home that her parents still currently reside in, Vivian Lin tells a personal story about the Chinese immigrants who came to the San Gabriel Valley to realize their American Dream by building their dream homes; a grandiose structure with a mixture of Spanish, American, and Italian style homes.
The poster features an abstraction of the original blueprints of the home that was built by Vivian’s parents.
